Conservative Jewish women wearing kippot (headcovering) prayer shawls and carrying the Torah scroll, hide under umbrellas as they come to pray at the Western Wall (Kotel) on December 18, 2009. In orthodox Judaism, women are not allowed to wear prayer shawls or read from the Torah. The event is organized at the start of every month in the Jewish calender by "Women of the Wall". Last month, a woman was arrested for wearing a prayer shawl while worshiping at the Kotel.
