A Sphynx cat during the International Cat Show in Rishon Lezion on September 12, 2009. The Sphynx, also known as the Canadian Hairless, is a rare breed of cat. The Sphynx appears to be a hairless cat, although it is not truly hairless. The cats are often covered with a very soft, fine down, which is almost imperceptible to both the eye and touch. Many describe them as part monkey, pig and human because of how intelligent, extroverted and affectionate they are.

Visitors in the “Secret Garden” in the German Colony. The garden is designed with “secret garden” style – an Italian Renaissance garden, containing a centrally located fountain which is surrounded by symmetrical flowerbeds. It was designed by culture critic Dr. Ariel Hirschfeld, in memory of his wife, writer Batia Gur, after having seen such a “secret garden” in Villa Borghese in Rome.
