Although there have been no confirmed cases of bird flu in Israel or the Palestinian territories, the Palestinians fear that the virus will spread by in gulf-birds after there have been non-human cases of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) reported in neighboring Egypt. the Palestinian Agriculture Ministry ruled out avian flu as the cause of birds death, on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2006, they handed over to the Israeli health authorities between 20-25 carcasses found in a different location in central Gaza for testing.
