Soghomon Toumayan, 65, sits by the computer in his home's kitchen in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City, on April 15, 2015. Toumayan has been living in this house since his parents lost their home in Jerusalem's Katamon neighbourhood when they fled during the 1948 Israeli independence war, and found refuge in the Armenian Convent. A member of one of the most veteran families tracing back centuries in Jerusalem, Toumayan holds the role of lighting the first candle on the Armenian side at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, during the Holy Fire Ceremony of the Easter Holy Week. This role has been passed down from generation to generation in the Toumayan family. In recent years, his son Michael has been by his side during the ceremony, as he will be the inheritor of the position. Photo by Hadas Parush/Flash90
