Photo by Yossi Zamir/FLASH90 The event will also be attended by Esther Dominissini, Director General of the National Insurance Institute, and “Etgarim” CEO Dafna Harary. “Etgarim” is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1995 by a group of disabled IDF veterans, disabled civilians and senior rehabilitation professionals, in order to help children, teenagers and adults with physical, sensory and mental disabilities to strengthen their self-confidence, maximize and realize their potential through challenging sports and outdoor activities. Dafna Harary, CEO of the Organization: “as part of the international disability awareness month, Etgarim Organization manifests the triumph of the spirit over the body by holding an event in which disabled people will rappel down the walls of the city and will demonstrate that the impossible is indeed possible.” The National Insurance Institute, through the Fund for Development of Services for People with Disabilities assisted Etgarim in an amount of one million Shekels in order to purchase special extreme sports equipment. Assistance includes purchasing tandem bike designated for the blind, rappelling equipment and special wheelchairs for moving disabled people in field trips.
