An ultra-Orthodox Jewish man walks nearby the 'Chords Bridge' at the entrance to Jerusalem as he returnes from prayers at a synagogue and walks in the empty streets during Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and the holiest of Jewish holidays, on 18 September 2010. The bridge was designed by Spanish archetect Calatrava. Israel came to a standstill for 25-hours during the high holiday of Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, when obsservant Jews fast and Israelis are prohibited from driving.
