TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - Actors are dressed up like Tel Aviv's pioneers during the event of 'The Centennial Photo' which is part of Tel Aviv's 100'th anniversary events on April 17, 2009. In April 1909, representatives of 66 families gathered on a sand dune north of Yafo to allocate the plots for a new neighborhood – which would later become a large metropolis, Tel Aviv. In order to divide the plots in a just manner, they held a raffle using seashells. The photograph of this raffle, taken by renown photographer Avraham Soskin, is considered the defining photograph of Tel Aviv's foundation. Exactly 100 years after this historic moments, the descendants of the 66 founding families, along with thousands of descendants of the city's builders, gathered for a commemorative photo event on Menashiya, Tel Aviv's old rail station.
