Internationally famed Israeli author David Grossman receives his Emet Prize during a ceremony in Jerusalem on 07 November 2007 that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (seen at right) attended, but the two did not come close, nor did the prime minister personally congratualte him as he did all the other recipients. The Emet Prizes, totally one-million dollars, are given annually for excellence achievements in science, culture and art that have far reaching influence and make a significant contribution to society. Grossman lost a son in the 2nd Lebanon War and was critical of Olmert in a rally marking the 12th anniversary of the assassination of former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's a few days ago.
